Get Enrolled
A new job or promotion can be yours by earning your High School Equivalency Diploma. Students can get a High School Equivalency Diploma by taking the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET®).
American Job Centers
Nearly 2,400 American Job Centers (AJCs), funded by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration, are located throughout the United States. AJCs can help you look for work and offer job search workshops, free computer access, and more. Learn more at the CareerOneStop.org website.

Foreign Language Assistance
Integrated English Literacy/Civics (IELC) classes are designed to teach the English language and civics to non-native English speakers and develop their listening, speaking, reading, writing, and vocabulary skills in English.
Tennessee Reconnect is Governor Bill Haslam’s initiative to help adults enter higher education so that they may gain new skills, advance in the workplace, and fulfill lifelong dreams of completing a degree or credential.
On-the-Job Training Grants
When an employer identifies the need to fill a vacant position, he often has a choice of hiring a skilled worker or a worker who needs to have additional training. If the employer is willing to hire an individual who has no prior experience in the vacant position, an on-the-job training contract may be developed with the Local Workforce Development Area.
