Waiver Forms

Please send requests for pre-employment waivers to Lakita Taylor at Lakita.Taylor2@tn.gov.  You can also attach the waiver to your packet.

In-Service waivers should be submitted with the annual Salary Supplement request. Contact Kat Cooper at Katharine.Cooper@tn.gov with questions regarding in-service waivers or salary supplement.

NOTICE OF OFFICER ARREST

Tenn. Code Ann. § 38-8-126 (2017) requires officers who have been arrested to notify the Executive Secretary of the POST Commission and the chief officer of the employing agency within twenty-four (24) hours of that arrest. 

The statute also requires the chief officer of the employing agency to notify the Executive Secretary of the POST Commission within twenty-four (24) hours of gaining knowledge of the officer’s arrest.

Please note that the Commission may revoke or suspend the certification, withhold a pay supplement pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 38-8-111(e)(2) or take any other lawful action against an officer who is arrested and knowingly fails to notify the executive secretary of POST.

To report an arrest, please fill out and submit the POST Officer Arrest WebForm in the Acadis portal.   REMINDER:  Please submit the POST Final Disposition of Charges WebForm upon the court's final determination.

OFFICER/AGENCY  COMPLAINT  FORM

Please complete the form below to file a complaint against a certified law enforcement officer or a law enforcement agency in Tennessee. POST is not a general investigative agency and can only investigate matters over which it has jurisdiction as established in T.C.A. § 38-8-101 et seq., including compliance with pre-employment, in-service and training requirements.

General employment matters should be addressed with the employing agency, and criminal matters should be addressed with appropriate law enforcement authorities. If you have any questions about whether POST has jurisdiction over your complaint, please contact our legal office at request.post@tn.gov.
