Get REAL ID
Federal law requires that your first application for a REAL ID compliant credential be made in person. You can apply for a REAL ID compliant credential at a location listed below. Before visiting any of these locations to apply for a REAL ID, please review the required documents you will need to bring with you.
If you have already been issued a Tennessee driver license or ID, visit:

After being issued your first REAL ID compliant credential, you may renew online, use a Self-Service Kiosk or visit a County Clerk Office for renewal.
Make a REAL ID appointment!
Customers can now schedule an appointment for REAL ID at any Driver Services Center. Scheduling an appointment allows a customer to be served at a Driver Services Center on a specific day and time. To make a REAL ID appointment, click the button below and select "REAL ID Appointment."

*Service hours and operations for County Clerk partners may vary during the COVID-19 outbreak. In addition, County Clerk Offices may elect to serve only residents in their county. Please check with your local county clerk on their current operation status before visiting.
