117th Regiment Training Institute

The 117th Regiment, Regional Training Institute (RTI) establishes and administers institutional training within assigned Career Management Fields (CMF's), NCOES, and OCS missions based on the results of the Structured Manning Decision Review (SMDR) coordinated by the Army Program for Individual Training (ARPRINT) for the Army National Guard, the United States Army Reserve (USAR), the Active Component (AC), and the Subject Matter Expert (SME) Regiment in support of the Army's Modular Force. The RTI provides coordinating authority, quality assurance (QA), scheduling and accreditation oversight for functionally aligned units within The Army School System (TASS).

The RTI provides for the review and development of associated Total Army Training System (TATS) courseware in response to the Army's training needs, the Operating Environment (OE), Lessons Learned (L2), and the Army Learning Model 2015.  Additionally, the RTI  provides operational, training, administrative, logistical, and resource management support as required to accomplish the mission to train the Army Warrior within each respective State or Territory as specified and approved by The Adjutant General (TAG).


1-117th Military Police

The 1st Battalion, 117th Regiment (RTI) programs and provides institutional training within assigned Career Management Field (CMF)  31B based on the results of the Structured Manning Decision Review (SMDR) coordinated by the Army Program for Individual Training (ARPRINT) for the Army National Guard, the United States Army Reserve (USAR), the Active Component (AC), and the Subject Matter Expert (SME) Regiment in support of the Army's Modular Force. The RTI provides coordinating authority, quality assurance (QA), scheduling and accreditation oversight for functionally aligned units within The Army School System (TASS).


2-117th Armor

2-117th RTI (Armor) - Provides Armor military occupational specialty, additional skill identifier, and Non-Commissioned officer education system (NCOES) training for Army National Guard and Active Component Soldiers.   2-117th RTI (Armor) works in conjunction with the National Guard Bureau (NGB), the Training Doctrine Command (TRADOC), and the Armor Proponent School.

Our mission in the 2-117th RTI (Armor) also calls for us to continue to retain Soldiers in our organization, taking care of the needs of our families, enhancing our partnership with employers and communities, and ensuring that our great Soldiers are trained to meet the ever-changing threats that challenge our nation.  We also focus on Military Occupational Specialty Training (MOS-T), individual Soldier skills, and completing NCO professional development courses that will continue to build the competency of the leadership throughout the battalion.  In an effort to provide both students and faculty with the most current information the battalion will incorporate Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTP’s) and skills learned from deployment into our Training Program and operating procedures.


3-117th Quartermaster

The 4/117th Regiment (RTI) conducts the TASS approved 101-92Y10 Unit Supply Specialist and 92A10 Automated Logistics Specialist, MOS-T, Quartermaster Reclassification Course, incorporating training which mirrors the current Operational Environment, Lessons Learned and Army Learning Model 2015. Provide training to Soldiers to attain needed military education and proficiency standards.

Additionally, the RTI provides operational, training, administrative, logistical, and resource management support as required to accomplish the mission to train the Army Warrior within each respective State or Territory as specified and approved by The Adjutant General (TAG). This training will be limited to TRADOC, approved programs of instruction (POI) which support MOS reclassification courses and other requirements as directed by National Guard Bureau (NGB).


Officer Candidate School (OCS)

The 117th Regiment conducts functionally aligned Reserve Component (RC) Officer Candidate School (OCS). The 117TH RTI produces Soldier readiness by providing these courses via organic companies through centralized coordination of resources, oversight, and liaison with proponent schools.

Coordinates with National Guard Bureau (NGB), Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), and TRADOC proponent school to manage training. Trains staff based on Army Doctrine to accomplish the mission. Conducts random visits to training site locations to ensure training is conducted to standard and accreditation requirements are adhered to. Ensures all primary instructors are certified. Maintains instructor certification records. Provides assistance and guidance to school companies as required.
