Interstate 40 Interchange at State Route 136

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) plans to construct improvements to the Interstate 40 Interchange at State Route 136. The project will consist of intersection and operational improvements on SR 136 (Exit 287) to improve congestion and traffic operations between Bunker Hill Road and Interstate Drive.

Current Status: The project is early in the conceptual stage. TDOT plans to complete a more detailed concept report, which will develop a more detailed project scope, in 2025.

Estimated construction start: This project is scheduled in TDOT’s 10-Year Project Plan to begin construction in Fiscal Year 2032.

Estimated completion*: TBD

Funding Type: TDOT anticipates that this project will be funded in part through the Transportation Modernization Fund.
