Remote Automatic Weather Stations (RAWS) strategically located across the state monitor the weather and provide weather data that assists land management agencies with a variety of projects such as monitoring air quality, drought conditions, and rating fire danger. Statewide there are 25 NFDRS RAWS managed by the Division and other land management agencies that are used to develop fire danger ratings, burn indices, spot weather forecasts, monitor current conditions and track trends.
