State Veterans Cemeteries

The Tennessee Department of Veterans Services maintains and manages five Veterans Cemeteries in the state to include one in Nashville, one in Memphis, two in Knoxville and one in Parkers Crossroads. To pre-register for burial, please click on the cemetery of your choice.

The Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery was established in January 1993. This cemetery has the capacity for 30,813 plots.

Pre-Registration
Veterans and dependents can pre-register for burial in the Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. Click on the Pre-Register for Burial icon below, fill out the pertinent information, click on the submit button, then mail the Veteran's DD-214 or NG Form 22 (discharge papers) to the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery. For spouse burial requests, please also include marriage certificate. You will receive a formal response from the Tennessee Department of Veterans Services in the mail 4 to 6 weeks from the date the application is received. All applications are subject to eligibility verification, review and approval.

After your application has been submitted, please mail the Veteran's DD-214 or NG Form 22 (discharge papers) to the cemetery. For spouse burial requests, please include marriage certificate. Middle Tennessee Pre-Registration Form

The East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on Lyons View Pike was established in August 1990. This cemetery has a capacity of 6,000 plots and is at capacity. Pre-registration applications are not being accepted at this site.

The East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on E. Governor John Sevier Highway 68 was established in August 2011. This cemetery has a capacity of 28,000 plots with future plots to be added pending expansion.
