Denise Lawrence serves as the Executive Director of the Tennessee Motor Vehicle Commission, a role she has held since 2019.

A longtime Nashville resident, Ms. Lawrence has worked in state and federal government roles including serving as a staff member in Congress. In 2015 she left state government for the private sector where she served as the executive director of a nonprofit until December of 2019. She has one daughter and four grandchildren. She is a graduate of Auburn University.
