COVID-19 Guidance from the TN Motor Vehicle Commission

As of April 15, 2021, the Motor Vehicle Commission, in an effort to promote a fair and level playing field for all licensees and to prevent abuses to the public, will begin auditing advertising through all media, state-wide.

Here you will find helpful information directing you to items that will aid in your process of becoming a licensed motor vehicle professional in the State of Tennessee.

**ANNUAL SALES REPORTS**

**LICENSED DEALERS ONLY - DRIVE OUT TAGS**

Licensed Tennessee Motor Vehicle Dealers can email dg_plate&supply.team@tn.gov to obtain temporary tags. Please note that it is required you submit a copy of a valid dealer's license to complete the transaction. Also, licensed Tennessee Motor Vehicle Dealers can participate in the Dealer Drive-Out EZ Tag System. This system allows dealers to electronically submit vehicle, lien, and owner information to their county clerk's office and also produces a unique temporary tag which can be printed by the dealer. The program also creates a worry-free way of auditing temporary tag logs. With these resources, participating dealers find that the program is fast, efficient and time saving. **DRIVE-OUT TAG LOG**

A requirement of the Tennessee Motor Vehicle Commission for each licensee who utilizes temporary plates is to maintain a temporary tag log. You may download a copy of this form at https://www.tn.gov/commerce/documents/regboards/mvc/forms/f1321501.pdf. Failure to maintain a record of temporary tags may result in the assessment of substantial civil penalties, suspension or revocation of your motor vehicle dealer license. Electronic records of the tag log are acceptable and must contain the same information as found on the paper tag log.
