CDBG Imminent Threat and Urgent Need (CDBG-IT)
On rare occasion a project need for a community may rise to such a critical level that a CDBG Imminent Threat and Urgent Need (CDBG-IT) request may be made. CDBG-IT must be able to meet the follow criteria to qualify:
- The incident creating the imminent threat or urgent need must have occurred within the last 18 months.
- The incident creating the imminent threat or urgent need must not be the result of negelect of standard operations and maintenace or be the result of materials or equipment expected end of life.
- The applicant community is not able to finance the proposed project on it own and other sources of funding are not available.
CDBG-IT projects are still subject to all the federal rules and requirements that apply to the CDBG program. CDBG-IT applications may be submitted outside the annual funding round.
