State Route 386

Sumner County

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) proposes to construct improvements to State Route 386 in Sumner County. This project was identified for funding in Governor Bill Lee’s Fiscal Year 2023 budget. The planned improvements, from Saint Blaise Road to State Route 109, will consist of widening the existing roadway to six lanes (three in each direction) and eliminating at-grade intersections. The existing at-grade intersection with Long Hollow Pike (SR 174) will become a grade-separated interchange. Access at other points, including the intersection with Belvedere Drive, will be closed, with access provided by a new connector road beginning at SR 174.

Current Status: This project is under development.

Estimated construction start: This project is scheduled in TDOT’s 10-Year Project Plan to begin construction in Fiscal Year 2031.

Estimated completion*: TBD

Funding Type: This project is funded through the Statewide Partnership Program, with part of the project’s funding coming from local partners and the remainder funded through the 2023 General Fund Transfer and traditional federal and state sources.
